Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster games finally have classic OST and font on PC

Square Enix hasreleased a patchtoday for the PC versions of theFinal Fantasy Pixel Remastergames. Patch 1.10 includes the option to switch between classic and remastered soundtracks and classic pixelated and crappy modern fonts. In case something sounds off about this announcement to you, it’s because these features were already built into the console versions of these games. Why it tooknearly a yearto make it to PC is pretty mystifying. The fonts, in particular, were hated by many who picked up the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster games back when they were released on PC in 2021....

First look at Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag gameplay

Watch out for sharks This first real look atAssassin’s Creed IV: Black Flagin motion is, at times, breathtaking. To some extent, that’s to be expected given the setting, but wow — this looks like a world I want to explore. Although theAssassin’s Creedseries isn’t exactly my cup of tea, sailing ships and swimming in the Caribbean sounds like one heck of a good time. I have to wonder how much Ubisoft will cater to the new audience that is merely in it for the pirate theme....

If not, no biggie. It isn’t too late to brush up on any of this good stuff or just prepare for what’s next....

Freddie Prinze Jr. tells us a bit about his role in Dragon Age: Inquisition

He sounds a lot better than Vega did in ME3 I wasn’t a big fan of Freddie Prinze Jr.’s role of James Vega inMass Effect 3, but his new turn as “Iron Bull” inDragon AgeInquisitionsounds a lot more interesting. This new video from Bioware gives us a glimpse of Freddie in the role, and he seems to be not only passionate about the project, but doing a great job getting into character....

I’m starting to care about Halo 5 thanks to Warzone

24 players vs. each other and the AI While E3 didn’t officially start until last Tuesday, there was plenty of video game stuff happening in and around Los Angeles the day before (and even theday before that!). Covering press conferences from Microsoft, Electronic Arts, Ubisoft, and Sony ate most of my Monday, and then it was off to seeHalo 5: Guardiansat, like, 9:30pm. My first appointment of the week. On our way around a huge line of party-going hopefuls seeking food, drink, and games at Microsoft’s shindig, a macho cop berated Steven, Kenny, and I for trying to find our on-site contact and get inside....
