With a single identity system Electronic Arts has finished work on a new user identity system that can work across all gaming platforms. The report fromVenture Beatstates that the company can follow players across multiple platforms, including the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, iPhone, Facebook, and Origin all with just one ID. The benefit for players that use the ID system is that, aside from seeing what EA games your friends are playing, you’ll be able pick up and play a game from one device to another....

Square Enix hasreleased a patchtoday for the PC versions of theFinal Fantasy Pixel Remastergames. Patch 1.10 includes the option to switch between classic and remastered soundtracks and classic pixelated and crappy modern fonts. Watch out for sharks This first real look atAssassin’s Creed IV: Black Flagin motion is, at times, breathtaking. To some extent, that’s to be expected given the setting, but wow — this looks like a world I want to explore. Although theAssassin’s Creedseries isn’t exactly my cup of tea, sailing ships and swimming in the Caribbean sounds like one heck of a good time. I have to wonder how much Ubisoft will cater to the new audience that is merely in it for the pirate theme....
