Spelunky 2 unlikely to release in 2019

‘The density and detail of the game is demanding more time’ Spelunkyis an all-time great, and I’m confident thatSpelunky 2will also be fantastic. But we won’t know for sure until next year, most likely– the PS4 and PC sequel is no longer slated for a 2019 release. “Development is still going well and we’re not far off target, but the density and detail of the game is demanding more time,” designer Derek Yu said on Twitter....

Steam’s Halloween Sale is full of spooks and savings

[HalloweenThemeMusic.mp3] Halloween can quickly turn into an expensive holiday. Fake graves for the yard, sexy costumes, and peeled grapes aren’t going to buy themselves. But, if you’ve budgeted irresponsibly, Steam’s here to bail you out again. Just underway, Steam has a Halloween sale going on through November 2. There are a lot of games with the word “zombie” in the title, as you’d expect. Some look good, others not so much, but it’s the reason for the season....

Sure, if I had the hardware I’d 3D print this Zelda: Breath of the Wild Guardian Shield

Nice Zeldafans create the most delightful things. Like this 3D-printed Guardian Shield from AnimaSpiritus, which looks exactly like the model from the game. Evidently it has “over 150 NeoPixel” LED lights to power it to give it a little extra kick. It would make a pretty kickass ensemble for a Halloween costume, if you were to also donthe Ancient Armor set. For those who haven’t playedBreath of the Wildyet (which makes sense to some degree, if you don’t own a Switch yet or have abandoned/sold your Wii U), these shields are primarily used by the Guardian enemies that you’ve seen everywhere in the game’s marketing, including the widely reportedgiant amiibo figure....

If you don’t have these games already, then you really owe it to yourself to check them out....

Writers of Saw working on God of War screenplay

Hollywood isn’t doneabusing videogamesyet, it seems. The long dormantGod of Warfilm adaptation is getting renewed thanks to Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan, writers of the four latestSawfilms and a draft for Guillermo del Toro’s upcoming epicPacific Rim. When I thinkGod of War, I think shallow characters, stupidity, and brutality, so maybe these two guys are the perfect fit, all things considered. Things aren’t so bad, however. While Melton and Dunstan will be writing the screenplay, it will be based off David Self’s initial draft....
