Nintendo is not going to offer a Wii U Ambassador program

That makes perfect sense Although it seems obvious that Nintendo will not be offering a special Wii Uambassador programin light of the recentconsole price drop, we’re all left wondering “what if” due to the precedent.Wii U Daily took the initiative, and asked Nintendo outright — here is what they said: Hello, Thank you for taking the time to write with your questions regarding a Wii U Ambassador program. Not all NGP models will support 3G

Sony has clarified that its upcoming portable, codenamed “Next Generation Portable,” will come in more than one flavor. That 3G support it mentioned won’t be featured in every NGP model. According to Sony Europe’s Andrew House, only one model will feature the 3G capability, and the service will (obviously) cost extra. All units, however, will ship with Wi-Fi support, explains House. “So the user gets a choice,” he tellsEurogamer. “Wi-Fi is available wherever, which clearly is the most important aspect of connectivity and that connected experience; 3G will be a subset of that....

Look, I likeWhite Knight Chronicles II. A lot, actually. It’s one of those rare console experiences you can totally get lost in and play forever. I’mstillplaying it, and have been since its release. But I’ve played other games since then. I’ve lived my life. I’ve cooked dinners, went out with friends, went on vacation, took work trips, bathed my dog, wrote music, backed up my files, read books… OneJapanese gamerhas probably missed all of that....

Paper Mario: Color Splash draws ire of Nintendo fans, looks alright

As I talked about yesterday,Paper Mario: Color Splashhasn’t been very well receivedby the Nintendo community. You all shared your own reasons, and Nintendo’s YouTube channel currently has more dislikes than likes on both showcase videos. A lot of the complaints stem from the lack of partners from the classic series, the battle system, and the adherence to stickers. But there’s good news — Nintendo showed off nearly 40 minutes of gameplay yesterday, so you can watch it below (along with the trailer) and decide for yourself....

Preview: Mage’s Initiation channels Quest for Glory

A pyromaniac’s first steps The adventure/roleplaying game is one of my favorite hybrids, next to the Liger, and undoubtedly the first series that the mind conjures up when thinking of this genre is Sierra’sQuest for Glorytitles (other than the fifth game, an action RPG). Puzzles and puns mixed with classes and combat, the two genres made excellent bedfellows. Lamentably, neither the franchise or the genre really made it out of the ’90s, and publishers weren’t exactly keen to support anything with lots of pointing and clicking....

Producer admits Final Fantasy XIII had problems

Final Fantasy XIIIproducer Yoshinori Kitase has admitted that his game had a number of flaws, addressing criticism that the game was too restricted and lacked the sense of exploration felt in otherFinal Fantasygames. “Obviously it was the firstFinal Fantasynumbered titled for current-gen, high definition consoles, so we found it very challenging,” said Kitase. “When it comes to graphical standard, game volume and [creating a] big story, we were quite satisfied. Rumor: Internet Explorer finally coming to Xbox 360

Sources have indicated to The Verge that Microsoft plans to bring a modified version of Internet Explorer 9 to the Xbox 360 that will go beyond the capabilities of the console’s Bing voice search. We’re talking full browser support here, folks! Please contain your enthusiasm. Unsurprisingly, motion and voice control are said to be supported by way of Kinect, though owning the device will not be required for the browser. The sources didn’t have a release window yet, but it seems plausible that we’ll hear more during E3 next month....

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 is coming in 2021, apparently

GSC Game World is back for more I didn’t think we’d ever see a numbered sequel to 2007’sS.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl, a game that will probably still be getting new mods long after we’re all gone, but these are strange times. https://t.co/IUa2AKNM3L — Sergey Galyonkin (@galyonkin)July 14, 2025 Today, a teaser websiteappearedwith nothing more than the text “S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2” and “2.0.2.1.” placed on top of a dark cracked wall. Seven fighting games assemble for the Humble Brawler Bundle

Ride the fire While its name doesn’t necessarily conjure up fighting games, this week’sHumble Brawler Bundlehits the mark where it counts: it has some good games for cheap. The $1 tier is pretty special. Pay $1 or more: Pay more than the average: Pay $9 or more: It’s not every day you see fighting games bundled like this. Shadow Warrior 2 goes even more over the top with co-op action

Wang is back, baby 2013’sShadow Warriorreboot from Devolver Digital made a name for itself when it was released on PC. As most reboots of classic titles tend to go for a more gritty and toned-down vibe, the developers at Flying Wild Hog went in the opposite direction and embraced the ridiculousness of a modern ninja warrior battling foes with a variety of classic and current weaponry. It was a game that shouldn’t have worked, especially with a main character named Lo Wang, but it did, and totally delivered on satisfying and over-the-top action....
