Storm’s Adventure with Mortal Kombat

Witness another poor decision on my part.Street Fighter IVtaught me not to play modern fighting games, or, at the very least, speak my opinion of them in public. Of course, that was before I was able to post to the third largest gaming blog on the internet, where everyone loves me…weak laughter. Mortal Kombatgames sort of dropped of the planet for a while, so we’re served up with a nice reboot this time around....

Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars gets price drop, holiday update

I still think that Psyonix Studios’ PlayStation Network battle-car game,Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars,has a name that’s just too damned long. Even the abbreviation, SARPBC, is longer than I’d like it to be. But I can get down with a price drop, as the game has shed $5 and can now be picked up for a cool $9.99 on PSN. Now might be the perfect time to pick it up, too, as they’ve also released a free holiday update that adds a new “Cosmic” arena, and other game fixes and updates (the full list of which you can see after the jump)....

The eternal influence of Twin Peaks

Three decades of transforming entertainment Thirty years ago today, peak television was born. ABC, a second-place network at the time mostly known for family-friendly dramas and comedies, took a gamble on an unusual crime drama about murder and secrets in the Pacific Northwest. Mark Frost was best known as a writer forHill Street Blues. David Lynch had two Oscar nominations under his belt and a penchant for the unusual. They were brought together for a biopic that never happened, but it was in this partnership that Lynch first had the mental image of a dead woman washed ashore; a picture that would eventually spiral into the pilot episode ofTwin Peaks....

The Guild Wars 2 team is teasing an eastern expansion

‘A glimpse at the distant future’ It’s kind of incredible thatGuild Wars 2has lasted this long. It turns eight years old this August, and ArenaNet, for the most part, has been a pretty good steward of the game. In all that time it’s only hosted two expansions (Heart of ThornsandPath of Fire): otherwise, it’s been propelled by its “Living World” seasonal concept that was way ahead of the curve of many others games at the time....

Twisted Metal now an ‘HBO serial killer’ with an M rating

Remember when Eat Sleep Play was aiming for a T-rating for the upcoming PlayStation 3Twisted Metal? It’s given up that plan; the game will now ship with an M-rating. “Without the blood,” Eat Sleep Play’s David Jaffe told a crowd during a panel at Comic-Con (viaGameSpot), “it felt a little weird, frankly.” During an on-stage demo, Jaffe showed off a few of the game’s weapons, including a sniper rifle. After landing a headshot with the gun, the skull exploded in a fountain of gore, something you definitely wouldn’t have seen with a T-rating....

Watch Dynasty Warriors in action on the PS3 and PS4

Hint: the PS4 does more things Yes, I still playDynasty Warriorsgames.
