Studio has its ‘Most ambitious and diverse’ year ahead In the coming weeks, developer Daedalic Games plan to announce an ambitious six new titles, stating that 2019 will be the most exciting and ambitious year yet for the German video game developer. The games will cover a variety of genres, including RPGs, roguelikes and classic adventure experiences. “2019 will be by far the most successful year in the history of our studio”, says Daedalic CEO Carsten Fichtelmann in a press release....

Colonize the universe During Microsoft’s E3 2015 press conference,DayZcreator Dean Hall revealed his next game,ION, a simulation MMO exclusively for PC and Xbox One. Gameplay wasn’t shown, but here’s how that will go down: “players will build, live in, and inevitably die in huge floating galactic constructions as humanity makes its first steps colonizing the universe.” Hall says he wanted to build a game that “is a universe” — not running on scripted sequences, but on the laws of physics, biology, and chemistry....

Capcom has dumped the “Ninja Theme Pack” forDead Rising 2on Xbox Live Marketplace and PlayStation Network today. It’ll run you $1.99/160 MS Points and givesDead Rising 2‘s Chuck Greene a new stealth mode, as well as adds attack power to sword-type weapons, and will let the hero perform new special attacks. Yup, this is the same stuff you would have gotten for free if you pre-ordered the title from GameStop....

Indie game developers Adam Rippon and Bryan Sawler began working on what would ultimately become last year’sDragon Fantasyin the mid ’90s when they were in high school. The two met in an IRC chatroom, joined forces, and worked on over a dozen iterations of the game, including a Game Boy Color version — then calledTalisman— that got the pair professional jobs in the industry, which for a while precluded them from actually carrying on with their personal project....
