With the back-to-back launches ofSea of StarsandStarfield, it’s easy to forget that another star-themed RPG is coming this year. To hype the release ofStar Ocean The Second Story R, Square Enix has uploaded the remake’s new anime intro to YouTube. Technically speaking, this isn’t the first timeStar Ocean: The Second Storyhas received an anime intro.Star Ocean: Second Evolutionfor the PSPalready added onethat probably would have worked just fine here. However, Square Enix seems to be pulling out all the stops for this remake....

You know, I still want to playCities: Skylines 2. But I had to stop because ofa showstopping bug. Today, Colossal Order has released a patch to finally fix that bug. Possibly. It says right there inthe patch notes: Wow, that’s some bad math going on! Thankfully, it’s maybe fixed. So, I loaded up my city of Misery and started getting things going. I had some electricity problems, possibly related to small tweaks to the calculations, but I got it under control by connecting some new substations (I thought they were weirdly underutilized in the first place)....

Ass-Mats The news has been coming inthicc and fastsince the initial reveal of Koei Tecmo’s one-on-one fighterDead or Alive 6. This week, ahead of the Tokyo Game Show 2018, we received both a new trailer and a release date for the fast-paced punch-up. Also announced for Japan is a special edition of the latest entry in the 3D fighting franchise. TheDead or Alive 6 Strongest Editionwill include a copy of the game, five “bathroom posters” (designed to be hung in humid conditions without getting damaged), an artbook, the game’s soundtrack, a set of pins and three of those padded T&A mousepads....

Persona 4: Dancing All Night The PlayStation Vita has not had the strongest year for releases. With some of the system’s biggest exclusives moving to PS4 and a drastic reduction in the number of new games being produced by first-party developers, many have been predicting the death of the handheld. But wait, the Vita isn’t dead yet. There’s still new games being released, particularly if you’re a fan of weird, slightly esoteric Japanese titles....

It appears as though BlizzCon 2008 started with a big, magical bang. Right from the onset the convention goers were greeted with the above trailer, which unveiled the new wizard class inDiablo 3. Aside from carrying around an orb reminiscent of theLabyrinth, the wizard class looks as though it’s carrying quite a punch. Notice how impactful some of the environmental spells are towards the end of the trailer. I smell less clicking and more blood in the near future....

Finally! Some time ago,Capcom was “working”on confirming a PC version ofDuckTales Remastered. Now, itcan finallyfullyconfirm the version, as Capcom has just announced the existence of the game on the PC. Specifically, it’ll be hitting Steam, Origin, Impulse, GamersGate, Green Man Gaming, and more — so you have options. The game will be priced at $14.99, and will launch “around the same window” as the Xbox 360, PS3, and Wii U versions....

When Sony Online Entertainment announced the downloadable PC/PlayStation Network gamePayday: The Heistjust before E3, Jordanwas hopingthat the heists would be fun and that it would control well. From the looks of this trailer the controls look like a mix ofLeft 4 DeadandCall of Duty, so that part should be fine. Conrad has also been yapping our ears off about how fun this game is, so that settles that as well....

[Update:Despite whatPenny Arcade suggests, I still stand by the prevailing assessment of EA’s words. The “scariness” was clearly presented as a negative. You don’t say, “they love the thriller game, but …” without the “but” referring to something less-than-positive. Co-op was clearly introduced to make these scared audiences more “comfortable” when playing. The point is, EA’s got a really bad habit lately of suggesting all its games need the same features, and the same feel, in order to succeed....

And John Carmack opens up on the purchase Don’t make death threats. Oculus Rift creatorPalmer Luckey saidthat employees and their families have gotten death threats sinceFacebook bought the company. Stop doing that, any terrible persons that might be reading this. “We expected a negative reaction from people in the short term, we did not expect to be getting so many death threats and harassing phone calls that extended to our families....

A few weeks ago Activision announced that they were releasing a new Bond game,007 Legends, this fall to coincide with the release of the new Bond film,Skyfalland Bond’s 50th anniversary.
