DOOOOOOOMED!

The latest Japanese sales figures are in (viaNeoGAF) and there’s great news for the Nintendo 3DS. The system has been on a beastly roll in its home country, and has actually managed to beat the significantly older PS3’s lifetime sales this week.

The 3DS cleared 211,499 sales this week, for a lifetime figure of 8,799,378 in two years. This is compared to the PS3’s 8,716,260 over six years. The Wii U was the biggest seller this particular week, pulling in a figure of 308,142, followed by the 3DS and the PS3 with 36,994. The PSP sold 19,637 while the PS Vita scraped by with 11,039.
