After a little while of getting accustomed to a developer’s style, you’re able to start to feel like there are no more surprises. How many times have you heard people say that all Nintendo games are the same, or that if you’re played oneCall of Dutytitle then you’ve played them all?

It seems that some people are starting to feel that way about Grasshopper Manufacture, as their last 4 high profile titles (No More Heroes 1& 2,Shadows of the Damned, and the upcomingLollipop Chainsaw) all share a similar meld of ultra-violence and surrealist comedy.

Black Knight Swordlooks to take those ideas of surrealism and ultra-violence, and express them in a very different way. This is Grasshopper taking on the spirit of Grimm’s fairy tales, and as we all know, the original versions of those fairy tales were as surreal and violent as it gets. This is a very different side of Grasshopper, one that feels simultaneously fresh and familiar.

Get your porcupine quills and motorbike wheels ready because you’re going to need all the help you can get to make it through this one.
