It appears as though BlizzCon 2008 started with a big, magical bang. Right from the onset the convention goers were greeted with the above trailer, which unveiled the new wizard class inDiablo 3.
Aside from carrying around an orb reminiscent of theLabyrinth, the wizard class looks as though it’s carrying quite a punch. Notice how impactful some of the environmental spells are towards the end of the trailer. I smell less clicking and more blood in the near future.
I can’t say I’m a big fan of spell slinging. I’d much rather tear up monsters with an axe. In fact, Blizzard needs to add dwarves with axes for hands instead of worrying about stuff like wizards or barbarians. How awesome would it be to control a midget with sharp hands? Picking up health potions might suck, but it would be entertaining nonetheless.
