I feel like all the sudden, my preciousEarth Defense Forceis going through some sort of renaissance. A few months ago, I was happily replaying the 360 version with one of my best friends in mad pursuit of the Genocide Gun, saying, “One of these days, maybe they’ll make a sequel…” And then the next thing I know, there’sa new game on the way,EDF 4announced, a PSP version, andEarth Defense Force Legendfor mobile phones. Wait a sec … make that five!
DotEmuhas announced that the next release in the Jaleco Arcade Series is a re-release ofSuper Earth Defense Force, which originally came out on the SNES. It doesn’t contain voiceovers, so you won’t hear gems such as “Go back to space!” and “The old man is dead!”, but it’s still a bit of fun anyway. Hit the jump to see a video preview of the title.
No word on pricing, but DotEmu says it’s coming to the App Store very soon, so keep an eye out. EDF for life!
