Halois Xbox’s flagship franchise and for good reason. Since launching alongside the original Xbox, theHaloseries has managed to sell more than 65 million copies. That’s some Spartan-like resolve.

News of the milestone accompanied aHalo-themed panel at San Diego Comic-Con this past weekend. Most of the presentation was focused on moving forward (until dawn?) with the series, but that 65 million figure put into perspective exactly how revered and widely-adopted the sci-fi shooter remains.

Since 2001, Microsoft has done a diligent job in frequently releasingHalotitles. This new lifetime sales figure includesHalo: Combat Evolved,Halo 2,Halo 3,Halo Wars,Halo 3: ODST,Halo: Reach,Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary,Halo 4,Halo: The Master Chief Collection, andHalo: Spartan Assault. October’sHalo 5: Guardianswill likely give that number a nice little boost.
