It’s Wednesday, and that means Xbox 360 owners get some new XBLA games today. First up on the list isHappy Tree Friends: False Alarm. The game is based off the cute little murderous forest creatures that kill each other in horrific and ghastly ways in every episode.
Next up isTicket to Ride. You get to make train tracks and ride trains. That sounds about as much fun as me putting bandages on my hairy arm and then ripping them off. This andHappy Tree Friendswill both cost you 800 Microsoft Points.
The big XBLA release today, of course, is theSuper Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remixbeta. To get in on the beta, you have to purchaseWolf of the Battlefield: Commando 3. Once in, you can only play as Ryu or Ken on one stage, and just in multiplayer. Player Match, Ranked Match, Tournament Mode, two-player offline mode, and spectator mode will all be opened in the beta. The beta is to help Capcom stress test the network code, and it will end on August 20.

This unique Beta version ofSuper Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remixwill allow players to select from one of twoStreet Fightercharacters, either Ryu or Ken, and battle online. This Beta test will help Capcom stress-test the network code underlying the incredible online features that power the multiplayer modes of the game.Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD RemixBeta online modes include Player or “Quarter” Match, Ranked Match, and Tournament Mode, as well as offline, local two-player matches (but that’s much less fun, isn’t it?). TheSuper Street Fighter II Turbo HD RemixBeta will run for approximately eight weeks, ending around August 20 or whenever we decide that we’ve had enough people using cheap moves on us online.
To gain access to the Beta:
Step 1: BuyWolf of the Battlefield: Commando 3for 800 MS Points
Step 2: Select the “SFII HD Remix Beta” option on the main menu of Wolf
Step 3: You will be taken to a download blade where you can confirm your download (this will not be visible until the code is live on Arcade tomorrow)
Step 4: Once the Beta has finished downloading, head to the “Games” blade on your 360
Step 5: Fire upSSFIITHDRin the Demos section on the Games blade and enjoy the online multiplayer goodness!
