While players are out and about around the galaxy killing Terminids or Automatons to protect Super Earth inHelldivers 2, they’ll also come across Samples. Super Earth scientists use these to create Stratagems that will help Helldivers achieve glorious victory over their enemies. A great example of this is theTermicide Towers. However, not all Samples are easy to find, with Super Samples being the rarest in the game.
Where to find Super Samples in Helldivers 2
Super Samples, also known as Super Uranium Samples, can be found in any mission inHelldivers 2on the top three difficulty levels. This means that you need to play missions on theSuicide Mission, Impossible, or Helldiver difficulty levels. These Samples appear around the map as every other Sample does, so you’ll need to explore and seek them out while completing objectives.
Some players report finding Super Samples close to strange grey rocks. I’ve never found any like this, but I have discovered them in clusters around primary objectives. For example, while clearing out Terminid Eggs, the nests where the clutches you need to destroy are located almost always have a few Samples around the inner and outer walls. If they’re in the mission at all, it’s the outer walls where you’ll find Super Samples.
Another great way to find Super Samples inHelldivers 2is to take every minute you can to complete secondary objectives. These are the blue objectives you’ll encounter as you explore the map. They’re generally not too challenging, requiring only one or two interactions. Super Samples can usually be found somewhere around the structures featuring these objectives.
Finally, if you stop at every building or point of interest, you’re bound to find a few Super Samples. These don’t necessarily show up on the map as any type of objective. I’ve found that they usually hold Super Credits or the rarest possible type of Sample, though. That makes them well worth investigating in my boom, and you should too if you want to get as many Super Samples for the team as possible.
What are Super Samples used for in Helldivers 2?
Super Samples are used to purchase upgrades for your ship inHelldivers 2. These upgrades are usually the last in a set because they are the most powerful and advantageous. For example, the Hand Carts upgrade, which decreases the cooldown for all Backpack Stratagems by 10%, costs 80 Common Samples, 60 Rare Samples, and 5 Super Uranium Samples.
The number of Super Samples needed to buy upgrades is deliberately low. In the missions where you may earn these Samples, you’ll focus much more on the objectives and killing the enemies that swarm you. This shows why it’s so important to pick up every dropped Sample, though. If you don’t, you and the entire team might miss out on one of the few Super Samples they’ll earn over the next few hours.
