An early walkthrough of the fantasy RPG

In this walkthrough of Portalarium’s fantasy role-playing gameShroud of the Avatar, designer Richard Garriott shows off an early build representing three months of work out of an overall 18-month development schedule. While it’s not very easy on the eyes and I don’t expect that to drastically change with the finished game, the mechanics are what we should be here for.

Watch as Garriott gets womped by a spider, hacks away at a tree, constructs a chair, sits in said chair, talks about the chair again with a bartender, and then heads off to a dungeon. Joking aside, the conversation system of typing out dialogue as opposed to selecting from a few pre-determined options is neat, conceptually.
