Balahara strategy guide for Monster Hunter Wilds

You’ll find the Balahara roaming around the desert region inMonster Hunter Wilds, and while he’s a Leviathan classification of Large Monster, his body made out of Fulgurite ore from the Lightning Strikes in the open desert region has shaped him to look more like a serpent of sorts.

The Balahara encounter is similar to that of a slippery snake, with the monster constantly sliding around and whipping its tail at you to deal damage. However, the big thing to watch for is when the Balahara burrows under the sand, as it will then begin to travel under the sand and pop out under you, dealing damage and pulling you into the sand crevasse left behind.

For extra rewards, Balahara has one single breakable part, its head, and a single severable part, its tail. Cutting off the tail of the Balahara not only gets you extra rewards, but makes the encounter much easier, as the Balahara’s major offensive is whirling around and barraging you with attacks from its tail. Once you’ve severed its tail and broken its head, start focusing on the exposed mouth of the Balahara which is its weak point.

Using Thunder elemental attacks on the Balahara is extremely effective, and the monster is prone to Paralysis attacks as well. In terms of effective items, the Flash Pod and Sonic Bomb are extremely effective against the Balahara. In fact, they can be used to scare the Balahara out of the sand when it burrows, allowing you to get some free hits on it. The Shock Trap and Pitfall Trap also works on the Balahara.
