Takatsuki Castle is nestled in the northern part of the Izumi Settsu region inAssassin’s Creed Shadows. It’s not the largest castle you’re able to take on in the region, but it’s still a formidable fortress with some enticing rewards.

To earn those rewards, you need to complete Takatsuki Castle, which can only be done by eliminating the right enemies.

How to complete Takatsuki Castle in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

You can find Takatsuki Castle in between the Yawata Plains and Muggy Lands regions in northern Izumi Settsu. It’s one of the final castles you can complete before you get into the next area of Assassin’s Creed Shadows, which features higher-level enemies.

As with all castles in Feudal Japan, Takatsuki Castle features fortress walls that make it difficult for you to penetrate the castle grounds. There’s also a series of connected moats around the different areas of the castle that make it even more difficult to navigate the fortress without being seen by one of the many guards inside.

Fortunately, you can access Takatsuki Castle by either going through one of the gates, which are guarded by armed enemies, or by hopping over on a tree branch. You can find a tree branch to climb on in the southeastern and southwestern parts of the castle grounds. There are also gates on the south and west sides of the castle.

Regardless of how you get inside Takatsuki Castle, your main job while you’re there is to eliminate Samurai Daisho. Samurai Daisho are required to kill to open the special chest inside the castle, which offers exclusive rewards and fully completes Takatsuki Castle.

There are three Samurai Daisho you have to complete before Takatsuki Castle is complete. All three are located in different spots around the castle, but they do tend to move around. In any case, here are the general areas where I was able to find all three of the Samurai Daisho at Takatsuki Castle in myAssassin’s Creed Shadowsplaythrough:

The Samurai Daisho at Takatsuki Castle are all around level 11, so you want to ensure your character level is around there before attempting to kill them. If it’s not, you’ll spend a lot of time trying to damage them while taking massive damage from any hit in return.

Once all Samurai Daisho have been killed at Takatsuki Castle, you can go open the special chest to claim all the rewards inside.

The special chest at Takatsuki Castle is located on the top floor of the main castle building, which is where the fast travel point is located. Visit this castle in the northeastern part of the fortress and climb up to the very top. Unlock the fast travel point if you haven’t already and then use a floorboard on the roof to climb into the top floor.

Here, go down one flight to find a red chest sitting near a wall painted with tigers and bamboo shafts on it. There’s an enemy patrolling near here, so take them out and then loot the chest. Inside, you’ll collect the legendary level 13 Peasant Hat headgear and the legendary Adrenaline When Entering Combat Engraving.

After you’ve collected the loot from the castle, I highly recommend descending the rest of the floors inside the main castle. There’s a plethora of chests to loot as well as some Hideout materials to claim on the bottom floor. Of course, you’ll run into some enemies, but most of them can be assassinated easily.

Regardless, after the chest has been looted, you’ve successfully completed Takatsuki Castle inAssassin’s Creed Shadows.
