WhileThe Elder Scrolls 6is officially in development, a recent social media post has claimed that we could be getting the long-rumoredOblivionremake during the first week of April this year.
Is The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remake real?
The recent rumor came from X user@DetectiveSeeds, who claimed that theOblivionremake is likely going live on Thursday, April 3. No official statement has arrived from Bethesda as of writing this piece.
The tweet, originally posted on March 30, is still up (if reliability is concerned). However, the author claimed in a follow-up tweet that the source is a bit iffy and that it’s unclear whether the game will be live “this week or the next” (referring to the second week of April).
I believe the Oblivion remake is going to release end of next week, likely Thursday April 3rd. Then 13 days later Indiana jones on the 16th on PS5, and then 13 days later forza horizon 5 on 29th on PS5.
The tweet also claims thatIndiana Joneswill be releasedon April 16for the PS5, followed byForza Horizon 5after 13 more days. As I write this article, some parts of the world are already in the early hours of April 4, so the date of April 3 certainly appears to be a wrong one.
It also feels a tad fishy that Bethesda would release such an exciting remake without any form of PR. One can cite the example ofHi-Fi Rush, which came out of nowhere and became an instant hit with the community. Then again, that was a brand new adventure and a fresh launch, whileOblivionwould be a remake of an older game, and a popular one at that.
We haven’t seen any fresh evidence since the tweet that would suggest theOblivionremakeis real. The latest concrete news came fromleaked FTC documentsduring the Activision-Blizzard acquisition by Microsoft. Then again, in the world of shadow drops, anything is possible.
