Last week, the sound of millions of jaws dropping could be heard at theannouncementof a spiritual successor to the beloved Super Nintendo classicThe Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. Recently,Zeldaseries producer Eiji Aonuma made an appearance on the Japanese Wii U Direct to share a little more on the project.
While most of the presentation was went over what we already know, one very interesting tidbit did pop up; Aonuma alluded that bringing theZeldaseries over to the 3DS has been something Nintendo has been working on since the launch of the handheld eye-strain device in 2011. Considering thecaliberofZeldagames published in these two years, the reason for this newest entry’s long development time is understandable.
As a lifelongZeldafan, seeing that familiar forest in a top-down perspective brings back nothing but warm feelings of nostalgia from a different era. I can’t wait to get my hands on this one.
