Here come the Blue Shells. Mario Kart is back, and it’s officially a launch title for Nintendo’s newest console, the Nintendo Switch 2. Say hello toMario Kart World.

Nintendo kicked off its official Switch 2 presentation with a look at the new kart racer, which features 24 players in one race, rail grinding, wall jumping, costume changes, and a whole lot more all in one package.

There’s also a battle royale-like mode and the same expansive cast of fun characters you’d expect from aMario Kartgame. There’s several ways to play the game on top of the base racing experience, so it looks like a true evolution of the franchise.

Mario Kart Worldwill also feature dynamic weather, times of day, and you will be able to drive “virtually anywhere” on the tracks, and free roam in solo or co-op play. One of the cooler-looking features, though, is the ability to drive right to the next track after a race to seamlessly continue the fun.
