Sadly, the knights are not riding the bikes or cars
April is already coming to a close, and that means a new month is on the horizon, with a new slew of games for PS Plus. Sony has revealed its PlayStation Plus May lineup, which features some extreme sports and chivalric endeavors.
May 2023’sPlayStation Plus lineupis led byGRID Legends, a racing game with some story to it. Via the PlayStation blog,GRID Legendshas a cast that includes Ncuti Gatwa (Sex Education) and follows the race-track drama of the racing world.
Or maybe you want a different kind of sport, and turn instead towardDescenders, where you can challenge procedurally generated hills on a bike. Nail sick tricks and earn new looks as you try to stay upright on the downhill slopes.
Of course, you could also just brawl it out inChivalry 2, the medieval warfare simulator full of grisly, rewarding swordfights. I played a bit of this on PC a while ago, and had a good time with it. It’s the right mix of surprisingly intricate combat and absolutely goofy moments.

It’s a pretty alright lineup, in my opinion. It hits that sweet spot of games I might not have sought out personally, but I’m open to giving them a shot if it doesn’t cost me much. Keep in mind that last month’s games—Meet Your Maker,Sackboy: A Big Adventure,andTails of Iron—leave the PS Plus lineup on May 1.
Building out Plus
These are the selections available for all tiers of PlayStation Plus. Meanwhile, the higher tier selections for PS Plus specifically for the Extra and Premium levels, tend to get announced later on in the month.
We’ll see what that holds, though we do know thatHumanitywill be among the Game Catalog offerings in PlayStation Plus for May.
