Playable at PAX West

The originalHand of Fatefirst caught my attention when Destructoid’s own Zack Furniss wrote a highly glowingfirst impressionof its sequel. It combined action RPG combat reminiscent of Rocksteady’sArkhamfranchise with card-game mechanics in a way that seemed unique and interesting.

WithHand of Fate 2, Defiant Development are working on expanding upon the original game’s central mechanics by improving the card-based gameplay, adding more combat styles including dual-wielding weapons, the addition of two-handed weaponry and adding companion characters into the mix.

The second of such companion characters, Colbjorn, has just been revealed. Colbjorn seems to be a slower, more damaging type of character, wielding two heavy and club-like swords to knock enemies back for easier kills.

Hand of Fate 2is due to be released early 2017 for PC and Xbox One and will be playable at PAX West in booth 6310. Feel free to check out the reveal trailer above.
