A new teaser ad has appeared in Japanese magazines promising news on a brand new Kojima Productions game, due to be announced on May 19. The advert displays a foreboding stormy sky, overlooking a dry grass field. What could it be? Naturally, there are theories.
Some are using the stormy sky to suggest that this will be a newMetal Geargame starring Raiden. The word “raiden” denotes lightning in Japan, and it could well be a subtle ploy by the famously cheeky Hideo Kojima. Some also say they see Snake lying down in the storm clouds, but that’s going a bittoofar into “stupid” territory for my liking.
If you want to be reallyDa Vinci Codeabout this ad, there is also a house hidden carefully in the background. Whether that means anything or not, who knows, but it’s there if you want to pick the image apart and get all hyped up before the official announcement. I know some of you do.
The rest of us will have to sit tight until May 18 when this mystery game is revealed. Here’s hoping Kojima isn’t teasing us off the edge of the cliff of disappointment, as he is often wont to do.
