Well, for now at any rate… NetherRealm Studios has released an image of a new skin forMortal Kombat 11’sblood-draining warrior, Skarlet. The wicked new look continues in the vein ofMK X’s“Kold War” range of costumes, and sees Skarlet dressed in a military officer’s uniform. It should be noted however, that this skin appears to be currently locked to the Russian collector’s edition of the game. This is Warner Bros. x NetherRealm after all, so that probably doesn’t count for much and it’s likely that the duds will be made available in the west somehow....

Because Sir Mirror said so Netflix has made a short-and-sweet announcement that theCastlevaniaanimated series has secured a fourth season. The news was announcedvia an animated teaseron the official Netflix Twitter. The first season ofCastlevaniahit the streaming service back in 2017, and won over fans and critics with its dark storytelling, brooding atmosphere and surprisingly wry sense of humour. It begins with the story of a down-and-out Trevor Belmont, who is called upon to offer his monster-hunting abilities by the land of Wallachia, after Count Vlad Dracula Tepes unleashes a storm of vengeance for the terrible and unjust murder of his wife....

Precious ‘stability’ Outside of the secret “all applications”menu that popped up after 10 games have been loaded onto the Switch, folks haven’t discovered any extra bells and whistles yet. No special eShop music, no Easter eggs — just the basic OS with basic features. That isn’t changing as of last night either with the Switch’s 2.1.0 update, which enhances “general system stability improvements to enhance the user’s experience.” I have a number of wishlist type things for the Switch, most notably the Virtual Console and the addition of a friend code workaround — and it looks like I’ll have to wait a bit longer for them....

The Straw Hat Pirates set out for a new adventure Bandai Namco Entertainment has locked in a release date forOne Piece Odyssey. The RPG based on the massive manga series will set sail on June 26, 2025. Previously,One Piece Odysseywas going to set sailsometime this year. Today at the Tokyo Game Show 2022, Bandai Namco moved that target just a hair into the new year. One Piece Odysseyproducer Katsuaki Tsuzuki explains in anew video messagethat while the team originally targeted this year, launching in January gives them more time in production and brushing up the quality of the RPG....

By their nature, visuals are almost always the first thing that an observer notices about a game. Wii games often don’t make a great first impression, especially since many gamers have become accustomed to the high-definition graphics of the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, but that’s because most developers refuse to play to the Wii’s strengths. WayForward isn’t one of those developers. Their reboot of the 20-year-old NES puzzle platformerA Boy and His Blobhas a striking visual style — the game is entirelyhand-drawn and hand-animated, which gives it a look that’s charming and beautiful....

Xbox 360 and Wii owners may still be waiting, asRCRis yet to hit those consoles. That will start to change tomorrow when the game finally sees release on XBLA. It will be interesting to see how well the game sells on the platform that was once thought of as the best bet for indie developers....

Kickstarter project was initially meant to be released in June It’s been a long time coming but it appears we’ll have to wait a little while longer forShadowrun Returns. In an update posted on itsKickstarter page, developer Harebrained Schemes have announced the new release date as Jun 22, 2025. The team have said this extra few weeks is to allow more time for bug fixing and polishing. Whilst it’s disappointing to have the game delayed, I’m appreciative of any extra efforts being made to make the game as bug-free as possible....
