Mega Dragonite’s reveal should have been a cause for excitement for new Mega Pokémon appearing inPokémon Legends Z-A, but a vast majority of the Pokémon community haven’t exactly fallen in love with its design.

While not everyone dislikes it, there’s a vast number of trainers who are unimpressed with the official design, so much so that they’ve gone out of their way to create their own designs or iterations of Mega Dragonite that they feel would be so much better.

While a lot of these new versions keep the same theme or idea, most have tried to improve on this Dragonite-Dragonair hybrid design by making slight adjustments or complete reworks at what they feel would make for a better-looking Pokémon overall.

For a majority of these designs, trainers have taken the wings off of the official Mega Dragonite’s head and put them on the back instead, replacing the head wings with little Dragonair fluff ears, and I like this design so much more. you’re able to argue Mega Dragonite’s head wings give it a unique look, but the wing placement, I feel, does make a huge difference.

Some trainers have also added a ball around the neck, which I think also adds more dimension to the design and gives it something extra over the usual plain look.

Some trainers, though, have taken a step back from completely reworking the design and instead have looked into slight differences from the official design, adding small extra details or slimming up body areas to make it feel more like a Dragonite and Dragonair hybrid than just a Dragonite with extra steps.

Of the ones we picked out, there are a handful more that do their own thing and sometimes go a bit away from the original design to do some left-field things, but we feel the above designs offer a glimpse into what could have been.
