Because if Emma Stone wasn’t born to play Amy, who was?
I’m seeing a lot of takes around the Information Superhighway that seem to be pretty down on therecent rumours that Canandian funny man Jim Carreymight take up the giant moustache of Dr. Robotnik (nee Eggman) in the upcomingSonic the Hedgehogmovie.
Personally, I have faith in the boy. I’m not really a fan of the rubberface shtick that Carrey brings to some of his movies, such asAce Ventura: Pet Detective, but I do think he’s a versatile actor and, when he wants to turn it on, can be excellent – seeMan on the Moon, Dumb and Dumber, The Truman ShoworEternal Sunshine.
But it did get me to thinking who these naysayerswouldlike to see as the mech-loving Dr. Robotnik. Then I started wondering, ifthe entire movie were live-action actors (just go with it, I drank alotof black coffee today) then who would you, the good people of Destructoid, cast as the daffy critters of theSonicuniverse? Is Ryan Gosling the perfect Tails? Maybe Jon Bernthal as Shadow? and surely only Aubrey Plaza can truly capture the fine essence of Rouge the Bat.
Look, I haven’t a clue. I don’t have the lore down on the StHCU, but perhaps you do. So, tell us whoyouthink should be embracing their anthro-acting ambitions in this somewhat risky silver screen escapade.
