Promoting an upcoming exhibition of painter Edvard Munch, to be held over the Winter at the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum,Nintendo has released a set of limited editionPokemoncards,depicting the brand’s famous characters starring in Munch’s best-known work: 1893’sThe Scream.In the set of five cards, Pikachu, Eevee, Psyduck, and Rowlet recreate the famous pose from Munch’s abstract and haunting painting. Amusingly, Mimikyu also turns up, looking like he hasalwaysbeen part of the masterwork since it was first conceived. You can check out the bizarre cards in the gallery below.
The Munch Exhibition is at the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum from October 27 until January 20.
