But it’s fan-made

We’ll get some form of aPokemon Legendsanime soon enough, but in the meantime, there’s this fan-made video showcasing what might have been.

While the style isn’t going to appeal to everyone, the YouTube channel Channy and Kimberly managed to craft something that can probably pass as official for a lot of people. I’m including the animation, editing, and soundtrack in here as a total package. The old school timeline ofPokemon Legendsis perfect for an old school anime style.

Pokemon Legends anime

It’s crazy to think that one day,Pokemongames could have fully-created intros like this. Game Freak has kept things relatively safe for years from a budget standpoint, but I can’t help but wonder with all of the money the series makes: what if it went back into the games?

I’m imagining aGenshin Impact-level production here, with full voice acting and beautiful animation; on top of a fully open world that can be seamlessly explored. WhilePokemonstill means a lot of things to a lot of people, a project like that would propel the series even further and turn some heads.

For now, we’ll have to wait and see howLegendsturns out. It does seem to take some risks (and curb some from other games), but is it enough? The name is probably enough to sell a ton of copies!
